Support for Seniors Nothern Society for Domestic Peace

“I’ve lived in Smithers all my life – that’s over seventy years! My husband died eight years ago, and I still miss him every day of my life. My problem is that my two sons aren’t treating me the way boys should treat their mother. They get so impatient with me when I forget things, or tell a story again that they heard before. They tell me to shut up, and don’t be so stupid. I’m ashamed of some of the things they do, like hitting me across the head or pushing me around. I’m not very strong any more, and sometimes they frighten me. Lately they’ve been asking me for money to buy a business, and they don’t understand that I need my money for the years I’ve still got to live. If I give it all to them, what happens to me? I wish I could talk to someone about all this, but if they found out, they’d be really mad and I don’t know what they’d do to me”
