Ending Violence Association of BC

Since 1992, the Association has been a provincial voice for survivors of violence and the community-based services that support them. They have created a strong communication network among Community-Based Victim Assistance programs, Sexual Assault Centres and Stopping the Violence Counselling programs across BC. The Crime Victim Assistance Program

Under the Crime Victim Assistance Act, victims injured as a result of certain crimes, immediate family members of an injured or deceased victim, and some witnesses may be eligible for financial assistance or benefits from the Crime Victim Assistance Program. Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, Victim Services Division, administers the Crime Victim Assistance Program in accordance with the Crime Victim ssistance Act and regulations.

As a victim of crime you may be eligible for the following: medical or dental services/expenses, prescription drug expenses, disability aids; vocational services/expenses; income support; lost earning capacity; counselling; protective measures; repair or replacement costs of damaged or destroyed personal property; home modifications, maintenance or moving expenses; maintenance for a child born as a result of the prescribed offence; vehicle modification or acquisition; homemaker, childcare or personal care services/expenses; and ansportation adn related expenses. Witnesses or immediate family members are eligible for different compensations.
